glass | wares is a design studio located in chicago, illinois focused on creating glassware that is simultaneously beautiful, functional and environmentally responsible. 


our process
each glass is cut from a salvaged bottle, then the rim of the glass is ground, sanded and polished until perfectly smooth.  an original, hand-drawn stencil is used to create a design that is then permanently etched onto the glass.  all of our etching  is done with a sandblaster – never toxic chemicals.
